Southern California Pizza Co.
Organized by Sentinel and management in 2008, Southern California Pizza owned and operated Pizza Hut restaurants in the greater Los Angeles market and had the rights to develop the Pizza Hut brand in the region. Sentinel helped Southern California Pizza transform from a group of 123 stores tightly integrated into Pizza Hut’s infrastructure into a standalone business with its own management and corporate infrastructure. In 2009, Southern California Pizza bought another 98 Pizza Huts in northern Los Angeles, making it the largest franchisee in California and the third-largest in the Pizza Hut system.
In 2012, after achieving substantially all of Sentinel’s investment objectives, Southern California Pizza was sold to another private equity firm.
