Falcon Holdings
Falcon Holdings was organized by Sentinel and management in 1999 to acquire 97 underperforming Church’s Chicken restaurants from AFC Enterprises in a restructuring. The largest franchisee in the worldwide Church’s system, Falcon owned and franchised restaurants in the Midwest. Then with more than $800 million in systemwide revenues and 1,400 restaurants worldwide, Church’s was the second-largest chicken QSR chain in the United States. Falcon also had exclusive rights to develop the Church’s brand in Indianapolis and Richmond and was well positioned to build and acquire more restaurants in the fragmented Church’s system.
With Sentinel as its partner, Falcon transformed into a standalone business with its own management and corporate infrastructure and significantly improved sales and profits. In 2005, Sentinel sold Falcon to its management team.
